An aquatic video, inspired by The Great Wave off Kanagawa by Hokusai. A calm, mirror-like sea gathers into one great curling wave, its crest breaking into claws of foam and spray before it falls back to stillness. The water in The Place Where We Almost Met feels startlingly real, and this piece takes that further: a wave with real weight and motion, inside a dreamlike, iridescent world. Palette, figures, scale and sound are the artist's call.
